A Life in Symbols
My name is Spyke Gayfeather, and my life has been shaped by three enduring passions: music, tarot, and the rich symbolic world of occulture.
As a queer man & Radical Faerie, I know that many of us spend our lives learning to navigate between the worlds we inherit and the lives we choose. That journey has taught me to value authenticity, imagination, and the quiet courage of becoming ourselves. These are qualities that also lie at the heart of tarot.
After an international career in the arts, I now live with my husband in the enchanting city of Tomar, Portugal, where I continue a lifelong exploration of symbolism, creativity, and the mysteries that connect art and spirit.
A Lifelong Journey
I have been reading tarot and studying the Western esoteric tradition since 1970. More than fifty years later, I remain as captivated as ever by the cards—not because they promise certainty, but because they continue to reveal new ways of seeing.
For me, tarot is not an occult practice. It is a conversation with the imagination, a meeting place between intuition and experience, where symbols illuminate possibilities that ordinary thinking often overlooks.
Reading for Creative Souls
Queer lives are often journeys of imagination, transformation, and becoming. Those same qualities drew me to music and, many years ago, to tarot. After a lifetime as a musician and decades reading the cards, I offer readings that are thoughtful, intuitive, and rooted in conversation rather than certainty. I especially enjoy working with artists, musicians, writers, dreamers, mystics, and fellow queer travellers who are looking for clarity without losing their sense of wonder.
Creative people often wrestle with questions that cannot be answered by logic alone. Tarot offers another language: one of image, metaphor, and intuition. It doesn’t tell us what to do; it helps us discover what we already know but have not yet found the words to express.
The Nature of Tarot
I don’t see tarot as a means of predicting the future.
Rather, I see it as a tool for reflection, problem-solving, creative insight, and personal transformation. The cards invite us to step outside familiar patterns and discover fresh perspectives, revealing possibilities that may have been hidden in plain sight.
The future is never fixed. Every reading is an invitation to participate more consciously in the life we are creating.
